The American Women’s Club of Luxembourg (AWCL) has launched the 2023 edition of the "Gifts for Kids" initiative which involves raising funds, coordinating the purchases of requested toys and delivering them to youngsters living in group homes or foyers on Saint Nicholas Day (6 December).

The AWCL has been organising this initiative in the Grand Duchy since 1996 where generous donations help spread the magic and joy of Saint Nicholas to more than 1,400 children throughout Luxembourg.

This annual volunteer-run charitable campaign collects children's gift wishes at a maximum of €25 per gift. Last year, the "Gifts for Kids" initiative delivered over 1,214 gifts to over 80 foyers. The AWCL goal for 2023 is to raise €36,000.

Maison Paula Bové has expressed gratitude for the initiative's generous support, stating "AWCL's assistance is truly invaluable, and it is always a great experience to see the children’s eyes light up when they receive their gifts!"

Donations are raised in a variety of ways, including from over 20 local companies and schools festive Christmas trees (provided by AWCL) are on display and covered with ornaments created by volunteers. Each ornament on the tree represents a child and their gift wish for Saint Nicholas. Individuals can choose an ornament(s) from the tree and send their donation to the "Gifts for Kids" bank account. 100% of the funds collected pay for the gifts that AWCL volunteers order for the children with the support of Cactus.

One does not have to be an employee of a participating organisation to make a donation - simply visit "Gifts for Kids" online at https://awclux.com/giftsforkids or follow the AWCL on Instagram @awclux to find out how one can help by donating through bank transfer or Payconiq.

The AWCL is also always looking for new corporate sponsors - for details, email: philanthropy@awclux.com.
