On Tuesday 1 August 2023, FC Swift Hesperange played their second-leg match in this year's UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round, at the Stade de Luxembourg.

Following a 1-1 draw last week away to TNS of Wales, the Luxembourg side had home advantage, even though they decided to play the game at the national stadium to cater for a larger crowd.

Stolz got the home team off to a flyer, with the opening goal within two minutes of the start thanks to Dominik Stolz; in a frantic start, Holden hit the woodwork for the visitors just two minutes later, with Brobbell doing the same just five minutes later. TNS then equalised half-way throughout the first half, when McManus slotted home a penalty.

The home side were forced into a change with just 35 minutes on the clock, when Davis Sprūds replaced Cédric Sacras. At half-time the score was tied at 1-1, with both sides looking for a winner that would send them through to the next round.

It was not until the 62nd minute when Alioui sent the home crowd wild with FC Hesper's second goal of the game, with an assist by Davis Sprūds. Four minutes later, Martins got their third and gave their team a two-goal cushion, with Sprūds again providing the assist. TNS made a couple of substitutions and did manage a goal back before the final whistle, when McManus scored his second penalty of the evening with almost 20 minutes of the game remaining. By that time, Paul Ayongo had replaced Dominik Stolz, and Yann Marques and Blankson Anoff both got a few minutes game time replacing Aldin Skenderovic and Rachid Alioui respectively.

The home team managed 15 shots on goal throughout the match, with the visitors managing just seven; and FC Swift Hesperange were awarded all six corners in the game. However, the home team picked up five of the six yellow cards awarded during the game by the Maltese referee, Ishmael Barbara.

But FC Swift Hesperange hung on and go into the third qualifying round draw.
