On Wednesday 2 August 2023, FC Diddeleng (Dudelange), FC Progrès (Niederkorn) and FC Differdange 03 were in action in the second-leg match in this year's UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round, with all three sides faily to progress.

FC Diddeleng won their match against Gżira (Malta) on home soil 2-1; however, as they lost the first-leg match 2-0 the previous week, the Maltese side go through to the third qualifying round draw. 

Things were looing good for the Luxembourg side, playing in front of their home supporters at the Stade Jos Nosbaum in Dudelange. Hadji scored a goal in each half (38 mins, direct from a free-kick; 84 mins, assisted by Englaro) to draw level 2-2 on aggregate, only for Jose Wilkson to score for the visitors with just three minutes of normal time remaining (6 minutes of added time were then also played). 

The home team had 21 attempts on goal (and two yellow cards), to the visitors' four (and four yellow cards).

On Thursday 3 August 2023, FC Progrès played their second-leg match at home to Midtjylland of Denmark, following a 2-0 first-leg win for the Danish side the previous week. Played at the nearby Stade Municipal in Differdange, De Almeida put the sides level at full time with a goal in each half (15 min, assisted by Mazure; 52 mins, assisted by Karayer); the match went into extra time when a goal by Chilufya for the visitors in the 112th minute, meant that the Danish side go into the third qualifying round draw. 

The home team had 12 attempts on goal (and three yellow cards), to the visitors' 15 (and three yellow cards).

FC Progrès: Latik (GK), Karamoko, Peugnet, Karayer (C), Guett, Bijelic, Amofa, Lybohy, De Almeida, Mazure, Natami.

The third side of the Grand Duchy, FC Differdange, were also in action on Thursday evening, playing away to Maribor (Slovenia), following a 1-1 draw in Luxembourg last week. They also failed to progress, despite a thrilling game featuring seven goals; Maribor won 4-3 on the evening and 5-4 on aggregate.

After Kolar opened the scoring in the 5th minute, the visitors scored three goals to take a 1-3 lead, with Castro converting a penalty in the 27th minute, followed by Trani netting either side of half-time (42 mins, 46 mins). The home team then managed to level the score thanks to Repas (62 mins) and Brnić (82 mins); in extra time, it was Iličić who won the tie for Maribor thans to a penalty at the death (120 mins).
