The number of available job-seekers registered with Luxembourg's unemployment office (ADEM) stood at 15,369 as of 30 April 2018: over a year, this represents a drop of 557 people, or 3.5% - the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate calculated by STATEC is 5.6%.

The decline is particularly beneficial for jobseekers under the age of 30 (-7.9%) and low-skilled jobseekers (-6.1%). The number of long-term unemployed decreased by 5.1%. On the other hand, the number of jobseekers graduating from higher education rose by 128 persons, or by 4.4%.

The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stood at 5,065 as of 30 April 2018. Over one year, this represents a drop of 225 persons, or 4.3%. Nevertheless, two measures have the opposite effect: the number of beneficiaries of internships increased by 74 people and the number of people undergoing adult education courses increased by 32 over one year.

During the month of April 2018, employers reported 3,266 vacancies at ADEM, i.e. 567 positions or 21% more than in April 2017.
