The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a fatal road accident took place in Luxembourg-Gasperich on Sunday 7 April 2024.
On Sunday late afternoon, there was an accident between a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Boulevard de Kockelscheuer and Rue de Bettembourg in Luxembourg-Gasperich.
The 46-year-old motorcyclist from France died of serious injuries at the scene of the accident. The motorcycle passenger was seriously injured and was taken to hospital after receiving first aid on-site. The car driver and passenger were also taken to hospital for a check-up.
The road was closed to traffic for the duration of the rescue operation. The public prosecutor's office was informed and tasked the relevant police department with investigating the accident. The vehicle was confiscated and an autopsy was requested.
