The results of the summer semester 2018 exam results of the Luxembourg secondary schools have been announced and are more or less stable compared to the previous year.

Luxembourg's Minister of National Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, congratulated the 2,615 candidates who graduate from the 2018 summer semester and wish them many success in the pursuit of their journey ahead.

The number of "excellent" mentions increased compared to the previous year: 139 "excellent" mentions out of 2,615 candidates admitted in 2018 compared to 100 "excellent" mentions out of 2,679 candidates in 2017.

The results include the results of public high schools and private high schools that follow the Luxembourg Baccalaureate syllabus / programme, those of the 2nd qualification track (evening courses and eBac), as well as those of the Schengen-Lyzeum in Perl.

Overall results

A total of 3,333 candidates attended the final exams. The success rate is 78% (80% in 2017). The rate of adjournments is 16% (14% in 2017). The refusal rate is 6% (unchanged from 2017).

In conventional secondary education, the success rate is 85% in 2018 (86% in 2017). The rate of adjournments is 11% (9% in 2017). The refusal rate is 4% (5% in 2017).

In general secondary education, the success rate is 72% in 2018 (75% in 2017). The rate of adjournments is 20% (19% in 2017). The refusal rate is 8% (6% in 2017).

The number of pupils who obtained an "excellent" grade (average equal to or greater than 52 points) is 139 in 2018. 122 pupils obtain it at the classical secondary level and 17 at the general secondary level.
