The Syndicat Intercommunal de Gestion Informatique (SIGI) yesterday reported that rapid growth of its activities and the enhancement of its services has led to the swearing in of four new officials.

Whilst other new employees will soon be sought to join the Syndicat, which supports 104 of the 105 Luxembourgish municipalities with Information and Communications Technology (ICT), four new officials have already been welcomed to the workforce.

Carole Klepper joined the 'Administration' department; Joëlle Claren joined the 'Receipts' department, Yann Koenig will now support the 'Accounting/Billing' department and Fabrice Thill now forms part of the 'Operations' service. These new employees were all sworn in last September by Yves Wengler, Chairman of SIGI, in the presence of Carlo Gambucci, Director of SIGI and Secreatry Conny Krier.

After thanking the new officials for their commitment to SIGI, Yves Wengler reminded them of the responsibilites and duties associated with thie new status, namely always acting in the interest of citizens whilst respecting the law.

This staffing addition forms part of SIGI's current strong expansion phase, as demonstrated by the recent closing of the accession procedure for the communes of Colmar-Berg, Wahl, Fischbach and Goesdorf. Over 100 specialists are at the daily service of the 104 member municipalities, fifty unions and, through partnership with various ministeries, social offices, nurseries and transition centres.

Through its knowledge of the different aspects of municipal business, the SIGI is able to offer its effective services in order to facilitate adminsitration and ensure cooperation between all stakeholders. The SIGI regularly hires new employees, with six people having been hired in 2015. New positions are being prepared and will be published later this month.
