On Wednesday 14 September 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action announced an emergency aid for the people affected by the floods in Pakistan.
Following torrential rains and devastating floods, leaving millions of people in need of emergency assistance, the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action has granted a contribution of a total of €500,000 in support of the humanitarian aid projects in Pakistan of three Luxembourg NGOs, namely Handicap International Luxembourg, Caritas Luxembourg and Care in Luxembourg.
The projects will be implemented over the next few months in the provinces and districts most affected by the floods and aim to provide immediate assistance to the Pakistani population, in particular through food aid and the provision of hygiene items, emergency shelter, as well as medical support.
