The Maison du Grand-Duc has announced that Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg will visit European institutions and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters in Brussels on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March 2026.
The Grand Duke will be accompanied by Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel.
During his visit, the Grand Duke is scheduled to be received on Tuesday by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the President of the European Council, António Costa. Discussions are expected to focus on current European issues. A meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, initially planned, has been postponed due to scheduling constraints.
The programme will also include a meeting with staff of Luxembourg’s Permanent Representation to the European Union, as well as Luxembourgers working within the European institutions.
On Wednesday, the Grand Duke, accompanied by Minister Xavier Bettel, will be received by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, with discussions set to focus on international security issues.
