The Luxembourg Olympic and Sports Committee (Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois - COSL) has reported that several changes concerning the 2027 Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) were approved at the General Assembly held in Monaco on Friday 8 May 2026.

According to COSL, due to a change in the date of the Formula E Grand Prix in Monaco in 2027, the 2027 GSSE will now take place from Monday 17 to Saturday 22 May 2027.

COSL noted that the infrastructure installations required for the Formula E and Formula 1 Grand Prix events during that period will no longer allow the organisation of the 3x3 basketball competitions. As a result, 3x3 basketball has been removed from the sports programme of the Games.

Following a proposal from the organising committee of the 2027 GSSE and the technical commission, the General Assembly approved the inclusion of golf in the sports programme.

The 2027 GSSE programme will include athletics, judo, sport shooting, swimming (including water polo), table tennis, tennis and volleyball (indoor and beach volleyball), alongside additional sports such as sailing, artistic gymnastics, rugby sevens, golf and boules.

COSL also noted that preparations are continuing for Luxembourg’s organisation of the 2029 Games of the Small States of Europe, with the aim of delivering a memorable edition for participating nations, athletes and the public.
