On Wednesday 1 July 2026, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie travelled to Paris, France for their sixth courtesy visit since the Grand Duke's accession to the throne.
According to Luxembourg's Maison du Grand-Duc, the visit formed part of a series of courtesy visits undertaken following the change of reign. The Grand Ducal Couple was accompanied by Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and External Trade, Xavier Bettel.
At the Élysée Palace, they were officially welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
According to the authorities, the meeting reflected the close and longstanding bilateral relations between Luxembourg and France. During their talks, the two Heads of State discussed key European and international issues, cross-border cooperation, as well as collaboration in the fields of space, technology and defence.
The visit to Paris follows previous courtesy visits to Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the Vatican and Spain.
