The Grand Ducal Police have reported that officers confiscated weapons from a vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday 28 May 2025.
The police received reports of two people having driven a vehicle into a supermarket car park in Mersch and displaying a weapon. Various police patrols went to the scene where they searched several individuals and vehicles.
According to initial information, these individuals were in the car park when a vehicle joined them and two men got out. One of the two men was said to be holding a weapon and the other was wearing a balaclava. After the people present were asked for their names, the two men drove off again.
Officers later located and searched the reported vehicle. They found and confiscated two blank-firing guns, a baton, a pocket knife and a balaclava. They also seized a large sum of cash from one of the two occupants. The authorities drew up a report.
