
The Corps grand-ducal d'incendie et de secours (Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps, CGDIS) have reported that, shortly before 04:00 on Sunday 8 June 2025, the emergency services received a report of a fire at a residential building in Bamertal, in the municipality of Diekirch.
Arriving on the scene, firefighters encountered a fire involving the roofs of two adjoining, terraced houses, and was threatening to spread to a third roof. The firefighters attempted to extinguish the fire from several fronts, including the use of two fire ladders. Around 07:15, they declared that the fire was under control, and would last throughout the morning. They were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the third roof.
A total of 70 volunteer and professional firefighters from ten fire stations attended the fire, as well as members of the Logistics Support Centre (CSL).
The Diekirch municipal authorities are relocating the residents to other accommodation. No injuries were reported.
