On Thursday 12 June 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that they arrested a man who had threatened to kill his neighbour in Eschweiler.

In the early hours of Wednesday 11 June 2025, police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment building in Eschweiler (Wiltz).

While officers were initially able to resolve the situation, the individual responsible for the noise later reportedly made death threats toward a neighbour.

Further investigation revealed that a previous police intervention had taken place the day before, during which the suspect had allegedly fired fireworks from a window and threatened and insulted other residents.

On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Wednesday afternoon; the latter issued a warrant for detention.

The police noted that investigations are ongoing and the presumption of innocence applies.
