The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a 34-year-old mountain biker died in an accident on Saturday 21 June 2025 in Baschleiden, near Boulaide, west of Esch-sur-Sure in the north-west of te country.
The police received reports at around 13:30 of a serious accident involving a mountain biker. The 34-year-old biker from Belgium fell while on a trail through rough terrain and sustained serious injuries that led to his death at the scene of the accident.
The public prosecutor's office ordered an autopsy be undertaken, as well as a police physical examination and identification service to go to the scene in order to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident: in this context, the deceased's mobile phone, watch and mountain bike were confiscated.
The mountain bikers present, all of whom belonged to the same group of cyclists, were attended to by a psychological support group which also arrived at the scene.
