The Grand Ducal Police has reported several recent cases of burglaries, thefts from vehicles and one shoplifting incident across Luxembourg.
Two burglaries occurred on Wednesday 4 March 2026. One such case took place during the night at a house on Route de Trèves in Niederanven. According to initial information, the offender gained access by smashing a window and searching several rooms. The offender stole cash.
Another burglary occurred at an apartment in a multi-family house on Rue Jean-Pierre Michels in Esch-sur-Alzette. According to initial information, an unknown offender entered the property and stole a wallet.
The police also reported thefts from vehicles. One such case occurred during the night of Wednesday when an unknown offender broke into a vehicle in Rue Emmanuel Servais in Sanem.
Another case occurred on the morning of Thursday 5 March 2026, where, according to initial information, the offender entered a vehicle in Rue de l’Industrie in Soleuvre and stole several items.
The police launched investigations in both burglary cases.
A shoplifting incident occurred on Tuesday 3 March 2026 at around 18:00 in Avenue de la Gare in the capital’s train station district. A suspected offender attempted to steal a mobile phone, and security staff quickly stopped the suspect.
A police patrol attended the scene and secured the stolen item. On the order of the public prosecutor’s office, officers arrested the woman and brought her before an investigating judge.
