The Grand Ducal Police have reported that several arrests were made following shoplifting incidents in Luxembourg-Kirchberg and Foetz on Monday 9 March 2026.
At around midday, police were alerted to two men in a supermarket in Luxembourg-Kirchberg who had stolen several bottles of alcohol. Both suspects were apprehended and arrested on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Later that afternoon, another shoplifting incident was reported in a supermarket in Foetz. A man was initially apprehended after attempting to steal various items of clothing.
During further investigations, a second man was identified and suspected of acting as an accomplice in the theft. Both individuals were arrested on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and brought before an investigating judge the following morning.
