The Grand Ducal Police have reported around 35 interventions across Luxembourg during the night of Wednesday 13 to Thursday 14 May 2026 involving fights, disputes, noise disturbances and public disorder.
According to police, most situations had already calmed down by the time patrols arrived or could be resolved directly at the scene.
Shortly after midnight, police were informed of a fight between two individuals on a bus travelling towards Luxembourg Airport (Findel). According to initial information, a verbal altercation between several passengers escalated into a physical confrontation between two men. The dispute was initially resolved in the presence of police officers.
However, shortly afterwards, police received another report involving the same two individuals on a different bus. During the subsequent scuffle, both men fell while leaving the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. As one of the men behaved uncooperatively towards officers, was under the influence of alcohol and posed a danger to himself and others, police placed him in custody to sober up.
At around the same time, police were alerted to a fight at a venue on Place de l’Europe in Esch-Lallange. Two men involved in the altercation were located at the premises by police officers. According to police, one of the men became increasingly uncooperative and refused several requests to leave the establishment. As he posed a danger to himself and others, he was taken into custody following a medical examination.
