The Grand Ducal Police has informed that it has put in place a dedicated security and traffic management plan for the ING Night Marathon taking place on Saturday 16 May 2026 in Luxembourg City.

This will be the nineteenth edition of the marathon. According to the police, the ING Night Marathon attracts tens of thousands of spectators each year who come to support participants along the route through the capital.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the police will maintain a visible presence along the course, particularly at key points of the race, to help ensure the smooth running of the event and maintain traffic flow throughout the city.

The officers will regulate traffic at major junctions, monitor the diversions in place and work together with Luxembourg City (VdL) to enforce parking restrictions.

The police noted that the visitors are reminded to respect roadblocks and traffic diversions and to follow instructions from traffic officers.

As with any event gathering large crowds, the police urged spectators to remain vigilant and pay attention to pickpockets.
