Luxembourg's Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a statement following the judicial operations conducted on Tuesday 7 July 2026, confirming that it had taken note of the information communicated by the Luxembourg Public Prosecutor's Office.
The ministry said the Directorate General for Immigration, the entity concerned, is cooperating fully and transparently with the judicial authorities to help establish the facts. It added that, due to the ongoing investigation and the principle of the presumption of innocence, it would refrain from commenting on the substance of the proceedings.
In view of the seriousness of the alleged facts, Luxembourg’s Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden has decided to launch an audit within the Directorate General for Immigration.
The ministry also stated that it is taking all necessary measures with immediate effect, without prejudice to the ongoing judicial investigation.
It reaffirmed its commitment to combating all forms of fraud and abuse, ensuring the proper functioning of public services and taking any further measures deemed necessary once the judicial investigation has been completed.
