The Grand Ducal Police have reported that two intoxicated men were taken into protective custody following separate public order incidents in Luxembourg City on Thursday 30 July 2026.

According to the police, officers were called to Place de la Gare in the afternoon following a verbal altercation between two men. During the intervention, one of the men became increasingly disruptive and resisted police measures. As he was intoxicated, disturbing public order and posing a danger to himself and others, he was taken into protective custody after undergoing a medical examination. He was also issued with an exclusion order.

Later that evening, at around 20:30, police received reports of a heavily intoxicated man harassing customers and later staff at a café on Rue du Fort Neipperg near Luxembourg railway station. As he refused to leave the premises when requested and posed a danger to himself and others due to his condition, he was also taken into protective custody following a medical examination.
