On Wednesday 26 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported two arrests following a burglary in Huldange (Troisvierges), as well as two separate violent thefts in Luxembourg City.
Taking place on Tuesday 25 August 2026 at around 19:10, police received a report of a burglary at office premises in a single-family home on Op der Schmëtt in Huldange. A police patrol apprehended two suspects at the scene.
During a subsequent search, officers reportedly seized several items, including a mobile phone and cash. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the police arrested both suspects and brought them before an investigating judge the following morning.
Earlier that day, at around 16:10, police received a report of a violent theft on Rue Félix de Blochausen in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie. According to initial information, a man approached the victim from behind, pushed them to the ground and stole their mobile phone.
A witness managed to catch up with the suspect, allowing the mobile phone to be recovered, although the suspect subsequently fled. The victim sustained injuries to their wrist and shoulder and was taken to hospital for medical treatment. An immediate search for the suspect was unsuccessful.
Later, at around 22:15, police were alerted to an altercation involving several people on Place d'Armes in Luxembourg-Ville. Initial reports indicated that several men had assaulted two other men before stealing their mobile phones and fleeing the scene.
Upon arrival, officers noted that those involved who remained at the scene were visibly under the influence of alcohol. One of the victims sustained a head injury after being kicked and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police drew the reports and launched investigations in both violent theft cases.
