The Grand Ducal Police have reported that three heavily intoxicated men were taken into protective custody in separate incidents in Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September 2026.

At around 21:00 on Friday, police noticed a heavily intoxicated man in the area of Place de la Gare at Luxembourg central station. He had previously damaged a mobile construction barrier. As he was disturbing public order and, due to his condition, posed a danger to himself and others, he was taken into protective custody following a medical examination.

Shortly afterwards, police were informed of a physical altercation between two people at the same location. By the time officers arrived, the situation had calmed down. One of those involved was, however, heavily intoxicated and remained uncooperative. As he was also disturbing public order and posed a danger to himself or others, he was taken into protective custody following a medical examination.

In a separate incident during the night to Saturday, police were called to a bakery in Rue du Brill in Esch-sur-Alzette, where a heavily intoxicated and disoriented man was inside the premises. He became increasingly uncooperative towards officers and, due to his condition, was also taken into protective custody following a medical examination.

Police drew up reports in all three cases.
