The Dots together with the City of Esch-sur-Alzette has announced that its third edition of EschTechWeek is set to take place from Monday 10 to Saturday 15 May 2027 in Esch-sur-Alzette.
According to the organisers, this year's edition will take place under the theme "Citizen 3.0: Building the Cognitive City", focusing on how artificial intelligence (AI), citizens and technology are shaping cities. The event will move from March, when its first two editions took place, to May.
Over six days, EschTechWeek will offer conferences, workshops, debates and other activities aimed at making technology more accessible and helping the public understand its role in the cities of the future.
Topics will range from the use of AI and digital technology in mobility, health and education to public services, safety and the environment. The programme will also showcase Luxembourg's technology sector and encourage young people to explore careers in the field.
Unlike previous editions, EschTechWeek 2027 will not begin with an opening ceremony. Instead, Monday 10 May will feature "EschTech_WarmUp", a series of partner-organised events forming part of the official programme. The main programme will begin the following day.
Tuesday 11 May 2027 will feature the "Tech Supreme Court", a mock technology tribunal bringing together young people and experts to debate ethical issues, followed by an "Exclusive Seated Gala Dinner" in the evening.
The remaining programme will include conferences and round-table discussions with experts, decision-makers and innovators, as well as technology-related workshops and activities for teenagers. Participants can also expect a tour of regional companies and innovation hubs, while the final event will feature gaming, esports tournaments, cosplay, entertainment and a geek market.
EschTechWeek will be open to the general public and families, students and secondary school pupils, companies and startups, professionals, decision-makers, institutions, policymakers and technology enthusiasts.
Participation will be free of charge, although prior registration is required. For further information, visit https://www.eschtechweek.lu/.
