On Wednesday 29 July 2026, Rotondes hosted another evening of its annual Congés Annulés summer festival, featuring free live concerts and DJ sets as part of the European Union co-funded GRACE project.
Now in its eighteenth year, Congés Annulés is a month-long summer festival featuring concerts, DJ sets and other cultural events. This year's edition runs from Friday 24 July to Thursday 20 August 2026, with a focus on local artists alongside performers from neighbouring regions and a diverse range of musical genres.
Chronicle.lu attended Wednesday's event, titled ALLER/RETOUR → METZ/LUXEMBOURG, which highlighted the connection between the music scenes of Metz and Luxembourg. The programme opened with DJ sets by Bios B2B D.B.Y., followed by performances from Carmela Vitelli and Fantôme Josepha, both travelling from Metz, France. Luxembourg-based band No Metal In This Battle closed the evening.
The concerts took place inside the Rotondes venue, while the surrounding courtyard remained open throughout the evening. Visitors had access to seating areas, food stalls and indoor and outdoor bars serving pizzas, snacks and drinks. Guests were also permitted to bring their own food, with the festival continuing to promote local products, including Fritz-Kola.
The festival attracted a steady crowd throughout the evening, with many visitors remaining on site until the late-night DJ sets.
The next free-entry evening of Congés Annulés is scheduled for Thursday 13 August 2026 under the title We Have Bands. The full festival programme and ticket information for other events are available on the Rotondes website.
