The City of Luxembourg (VdL) has announced that the “Second Chance Schluechthaus” second-hand market will take place on Sunday 15 June 2025 from 10:00 to 16:00, at the site of the former abattoir in Luxembourg-Hollerich.
The VdL remarked that every year, thousands of tons of clothes in perfect condition are placed into bins and end up in landfills, directly contributing to climate change. To counter this phenomenon, the Schluechthaus site will be transformed into an open-air second-hand market.
According to the VdL, visitors will be able to “find unique pieces while enjoying the raw and authentic setting of the site”. Clothing for adults, teenagers and children, jewellery and fashion accessories will be offered by around 50 participants, allowing bargain seekers to reduce their ecological footprint.
Admission to the event is free.
