On Tuesday 7 July 2026, the United States (US) Embassy in Luxembourg announced the arrival of its new Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Benjamin Rockwell.

According to the embassy, as the Ambassador's principal adviser, the Deputy Chief of Mission also serves as “Chargé d'Affaires” (acting head of the embassy) in the Ambassador's absence.

US Ambassador to Luxembourg, Stacey Feinberg, welcomed Benjamin Rockwell to the embassy. "I am delighted to welcome Ben to the team. His experience and expertise will be invaluable in deepening our already exceptional partnership with Luxembourg," she said.

Benjamin Rockwell said he looked forward to supporting the growing relationship between the US and Luxembourg. He said: "I am honoured to support Ambassador Feinberg as US-Luxembourg cooperation expands across defence, innovation, trade and investment. I look forward to working with our Luxembourg partners to enhance our shared security and strengthen both economies. I am equally excited to experience Luxembourg firsthand and get to know the people who make it such a valued friend and ally."

Benjamin Rockwell is a career diplomat with more than two decades of experience. Most recently, he served as Counsellor for Political and Economic Affairs at the US Embassy in Brussels, Belgium.

His previous overseas assignments included postings in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Romania. He also served as Director of European and North African Affairs at the Office of the US Trade Representative, and speaks French, Portuguese, Czech and Romanian.
