On Tuesday 6 October 2026, Luxembourg's Road and Bridges Administration announced upcoming roadworks on the A6 motorway at the interchange between Gasperich and Cessange.

According to the administration, renewal of the road surface on the A6 motorway, on the section between the Gasperich interchange and the Cessange interchange, will take place from approximately 21:30 on Friday 9 October until approximately 04:00 on Monday 12 October.

The work will be carried out over the weekend in order to minimise disruption to weekday traffic as much as possible. During the works, the A6 motorway between the Gasperich and Cessange interchanges will operate with two-way traffic on the same carriageway. The maximum permitted speed will be reduced to 70 km/h.

In addition, the number of ramps accessible at the Gasperich interchange will be reduced. Detours will be put in place and indicated by temporary road signs.

The following closures will be in effect:

⁃ The A6 towards Belgium between the Gasperich and Cessange interchanges;

⁃ The ramps from the A3 onto the A6 towards Belgium;

⁃ The access ramps from the Hesperange interchange onto the A3 towards Metz;

⁃ Coming from the A3 “Croix de Bettembourg” / France towards the A6 “Belgium”;

⁃ Drivers travelling on the A3 towards Luxembourg City who wish to join the A6 towards Belgium will be diverted from the Gasperich interchange via the Gluck roundabout, N4A, N4, the Leudelange-Nord interchange, the A4 towards Luxembourg City, and the Cessange interchange, before rejoining the A6 towards Belgium;

⁃ Coming from CR231 “Cloche d’Or” towards the A3 “Croix de Bettembourg” / France;

⁃ Drivers wishing to access the A3 towards Metz from the Hesperange interchange will be diverted via CR231 “boulevard Raiffeisen”, N4A “boulevard de Kockelscheuer”, and the Gluck roundabout;

⁃ Coming from the A6 “Gasperich interchange” towards the A4 “Leudelange”;

⁃ Drivers travelling on the A6 towards Belgium who wish to join the A4 towards Luxembourg City will be diverted from the Cessange interchange along the A6 towards Belgium to the Helfenterbruck interchange, where they can make a U-turn. They will then continue on the A6 towards the Cessange interchange in order to join the A4 towards Luxembourg City.

The administration advises that because the preparatory work required to switch the motorway's traffic configuration will be carried out several hours beforehand, traffic disruptions are expected from late afternoon onward.
