On Wednesday 9 July 2025, Luxembourg's Social Security Centre (Centre Commun de la Sécurité Sociale - CCSS) published its annual report for 2024.
The CCSS report showed a slight increase in social security contributions, from €8.18 billion in 2023 to €8.21 billion in 2024.
Among its members, the CCSS counted in 2024 506,987 salaried employees, 23,486 self-employed members and 22,490 voluntarily insured members.
In terms of declarations, the CCSS processed 575,116 entry/exit declarations (up from 544,559 in 2023) and 9.71 million salary declarations, down from nearly 11.2 million in the previous year.
The 2024 CCSS report highlighted the continuity of strategic objectives, including efforts to simplify administrative procedures. Measures implemented during the year aimed to improve accessibility for employers, notably through the introduction of new forms to facilitate the declaration of professional activity abroad.
Digitalisation also remained a key focus, with the CCSS advancing its digital strategy through the development of a dedicated professional space on MyGuichet.lu. This platform enables employers to manage their administrative procedures securely online.
CCSS Chairman Claude Seywert stated: "2024 was marked by a strong commitment to enhancing efficiency, proximity and the quality of our services. We used this period of stability to strengthen our internal processes, optimise our tools and accelerate our digital transformation for the benefit of our users.”
The report (in French) is available to download from the CCSS website at https://ccss.public.lu/dam-assets/publications/2025/ccss-rapport-annuel-2024.pdf
The CCSS is an autonomous public body under the supervision of Luxembourg's Ministry of Health and Social Security and the responsibility of a Board of Directors. Its main tasks are to register insured persons and organise computerisation on behalf of the various social security institutions.
