On Wednesday 7 January 2026, Tango and Proximus NXT announced the upcoming activation of a new range of mobile numbers starting with 692.
Since its launch in 1998, Tango has exclusively used the mobile number prefix 691 for its mobile services. After more than 25 years of operation, this range is gradually reaching capacity, reducing the availability of numbers.
Tango and Proximus NXT will soon activate a new mobile number range starting with 692 to ensure continuity of services. The range will initially be available to business customers only.
The Hôpitaux Robert Schuman (HRS) hospitals in Luxembourg will be the first to benefit from this new numbering range, with the first activations expected in the coming days.
