On Saturday 7 June 2025 at 10:00, the official opening of the miniature railway (“Millebunn”) will take place in the town of Olingen at Al Millen (12, Rue de Flaxweiler).
The municipality of Betzdorf has announced that Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, will attend the official inauguration. A public festival will then follow, featuring numerous activities for children, including face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon sculptures, wooden games and “a very special merry-go-round”. The event will conclude at 18:00.
According to the municipality, the train will, when weather permits, provide trips along a route of approximately 370m and features two stops. It is intended to “enhance the village of Olingen and make the region even more attractive for families” and is described by the municipality as “beautifully designed” and “for young and old”.
Located next to the miniature railway is a playground with slides, swings and a shaded sandpit, along with water features designed to provide relief on hot summer days. Restaurants located nearby are also available for those seeking refreshments.
