Luxembourg’s Institut Pierre Werner (IPW) has announced it will host the “Night of Languages” on Friday 26 September 2025 at 17:00, at the Europa Experience in the European Parliament in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

The IPW said that the event will bring together on stage “high-level artists and linguistic acrobats” from Germany, France, Spain and Luxembourg, including comedians Lidia Peña and Philipp Scharrenberg, writer Jean-Loup Chiflet and actor Fábio Godinho.

In addition to these performances, visitors will be able to explore the exhibition “Luxembourgish Language(s)”, take part in a language quiz and enjoy other language-related activities.

Attendees can also visit various stands dedicated to languages, hosted by the European Commission and the European Parliament, as well as the Goethe-Institut and the French Institute.

The organisers say “Night of Languages” aims to bring together lovers of comedy and languages to share the joy of languages, discover new perspectives and engage in conversation.

The event is organised on the occasion of the European Day of Languages, celebrated each year on 26 September, as well as the Luxembourgish Language Day, which will take place for the first time on the same day.

The organisers emphasised that visitors do not need to speak all the languages to enjoy the event. Presentations in Spanish and German will be translated into French and the Portuguese contribution is designed to be multilingual.

Entry to the event is free, but registration is required.
