Luxair has confirmed that its flight LG921, operating from Luxembourg to Hurghada, returned to Luxembourg Airport on Tuesday 8 July 2025 as "a precautionary measure".
The airline explained that the decision to return to the departure airport was taken in coordination with the flight crew and operations teams, clarifying it was not due to an emergency but "purely as a precautionary measure".
The Luxair Boeing 737-800 aircraft, registered LX-LGV, landed safely at Luxembourg Airport without incident. According to Luxair, passengers were kept informed by the crew and their safety was never at risk.
Upon landing back in Luxembourg, passengers were assisted by Luxair teams. A replacement flight is being arranged for Wednesday 9 July 2025 to ensure passengers reach their destination in Egypt "as soon as possible".
Luxair apologised for the inconvenience and thanked passengers for their understanding, reiterating that safety remains the airline's "top priority", even if it means occasional operational disruptions (caused by "unforeseen events").
