On Tuesday 6 May 2025, Film Fund Luxembourg reported that a Luxembourg co-production is being featured in the immersive competition at this year's Cannes Film Festival in France.

The news follows the announcement of two co-productions in the official selection.

The immersive work The Dollhouse, directed by Charlotte Bruneau and Dominic Desjardins and co-produced by the Luxembourg company Wild Fang Films (Hélène Walland), is among the titles selected in this section dedicated to creations in virtual reality (VR) and immersive formats. Introduced in 2024, this competition explores innovative approaches to storytelling, drawing on the possibilities offered by immersive technologies. It will take place this year at the Carlton Hotel from Wednesday 14 to Friday 23 May.

At the same time, Luxembourg is in the spotlight at Cannes Immersive with a "Focus Luxembourg", a retrospective dedicated to outstanding immersive creations. Five Luxembourgish works are featured, a fact which Film Fund Luxembourg said demonstrated the growing influence of the national immersive scene and its importance in the international audiovisual ecosystem. The selected works are: Battlefield (Digital Voodooh); Ceci est mon coeur (This is my heart; a_BAHN); Floating with Spirits (Tarantula Luxembourg); Ito Meikyū (Les Films Fauves); Oto's Planet (Skill Lab). The Focus Luxembourg event will also be held at the Carlton Hotel, offering festival-goers insight into the immersive creative processes shaping the future of cinema and the visual arts.

On Sunday 18 May 2025, the Marché du Film (film market) will host a new edition of Animation Day, in collaboration with the Annecy Festival. This event will showcase global animation talent and trends through screenings, professional meetings and exclusive presentations. Among the five international projects in development presented at the Annecy Animation Showcase is Julián, directed by Louise Bagnall. This international co-production brings together Luxembourg (Melusine Studio), Ireland, Canada, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

Moreover, Luxembourg producer Vincent Quénault has been selected for the Producer on the Move 2025 programme, organised by European Film Promotion. This programme brings together 20 promising producers from across Europe each year and offers them a unique opportunity to meet and exchange ideas during the festival. According to Film Fund Luxembourg, this is "a testament to the energy and professionalism of the new generation of producers in Luxembourg".

Another notable presence is Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps, who stars in Love Me Tender, directed by Anna Cazenave Cambet, in the official selection - Un Certain Regard. This film also marks an important milestone for the actress: it is the very first production of Viktoria Productions, a company founded by Vicky Krieps in 2022 and based in Luxembourg.
