The Maison du Grand-Duc has announced that the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg will pay a visit to Madrid on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 March 2026, at the invitation of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.
Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will be accompanied by Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, the Minister of Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, and the Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth.
During their stay, the Grand Ducal couple and ministers will be received by the King and Queen of Spain.
The Grand Duke and ministers will also hold talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, as well as with the President of the Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol, and the President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán. The programme will also include meetings of an economic and academic nature.
In addition, Grand Duke Guillaume is expected to deliver a speech at IE Business School (Instituto de Empresa), focusing on the challenges facing Europe.
