Pirate Productions has announced auditions for its upcoming musical production “The Sorceress”, which will be staged in November 2026.
Auditions will take place at The Waldorf School in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Sunday 8 March 2026 at 15:00 and are expected to last between two and three hours.
According to the production team, the musical tells the story of a medieval kingdom struck by an epidemic, where a renowned herbalist summoned to find a cure is later accused of sorcery. As the kingdom descends into chaos, she is condemned to death and must rely on the help of a natural philosopher, a knight and her loyal fox companion to escape. The show will be performed in English.
The musical score spans a broad range of genres, from traditional songs such as Scarborough Fair and Fly Away on the Wings of the Wind to rock, jazz, pop and metal pieces, all arranged in a medieval style blended with modern elements.
Pirate Productions is looking to cast the following named roles:
- The Sorceress – acting, singing, dancing (age 20–50)
- The Knight – acting and singing (age 40–50)
- The King – acting and singing (age 40+)
- The Queen – acting, singing, dancing (age 40–50)
- Ben – acting (age 40+)
- Bonifacio – acting (age 30+)
- The Knight’s Son – acting (age 20–30)
- Three Witches – acting (age: any)
- The Evil Spirit – acting and dancing (age: any)
- The Fox – voice and puppetry (age: any)
- A Troubadour – acting and singing (age: any)
- A Peasant – acting (age: any)
- A Herald – acting (age: any)
Rehearsals will begin in April 2026, with weekly sessions for acting, singing and dance workshops, followed by regular weekend run-throughs from September. A six-week summer break is scheduled. Cast members will be expected to be available during the week preceding the show and throughout the performance week.
Pirate Productions is also seeking musicians for a small orchestra, as well as volunteers interested in set construction, costumes, props, backstage work, front-of-house support and other production roles.
“The Sorceress” will be performed at the Kinneksbond in Mamer from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026.
