The Grand Ducal Police has urged members of the public to beware of people offering to re-tar driveways of homes in the north of the country.
They confirmed that, in the last few days, they have received a number of reportss that in the north of the country (including Heiderscheid and Grosbous), English-speaking people were out and about offering residents to re-tar their gardens or driveways for little money. They had explained that the tar was left over from other work and now has to be processed quickly.
Work would then get started quickly on site, albeit with what were described as inferior goods. At the same time, the victim is presented with an overpriced bill.
The police stressed that it is not advisable to commission such work or to make down payments.
Homeowners who have become victims of such fraud are urged to notify the local police station and file a report.
