The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that two people were injured following a stabbing incident in Grevenmacher on Saturday 29 July 2023.
The incident happened at around 14:30; the police received reports that two people had been stabbed in the back in a bar on the Grand-rue in Grevenmacher. A witness who still had visual contact with the alleged perpetrator was able to tell the police the direction of escape before they arrived.
The man in question was immobilised by officers and a security search found a knife and drugs on him (almost 90 grams of marijuana and around 20 grams of hashish).
The two victims were given first aid treatment by the emergency services and then transported to hospital by ambulance. It was then established that the injuries had occurred in the restaurant's restrooms.
The public prosecutor's office was informed of the violent attack and the seizure of the drugs, and ordered the arrest of the man who appeared before a judge on Sunday morning.
