The Grand Ducal Police has confirmed that, on the order of the public prosecutor, they undertook a series of alcohol tests on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 July, resulting in a total of 24 positive cases out of 532 tests ordered.
The tests were carried out at four specific stops, namely: Friday night, A13 motorway, exit at Frisange; Saturday night, Luxembourg, Route d'Arlon; Saturday night, Luxembourg, Avenue Marie-Thérèse; Saturday night, Luxembourg, Avenue John F. Kennedy.
A total of fifteen reports and nine fines were issued. Eight people had their driving licenses confiscated or a provisional driving ban imposed due to their alcohol levels.
