The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, on Sunday 6 August 2023, a taxi driver has threatened with a knife and was robbed in Pétange.
The incident took place shortly before midnight; the taxi driver had been called to the cemetery in Pétange where the three men threatened him with a knife and then stole two of his wallets/purses. The suspects then fled towards the railway bridge.
The police received a call and dispatched a police patrol which arrived at the scene and initiated a manhunt; they were able to locate the three suspected perpetrators and secured the stolen goods.
The suspects were arrested and brought before a judge.
