Luxembourg's Ministry of State has announced that the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will visit Luxembourg on the occasion of Europe Day, on Friday 9 May 2025, at the invitation of Prime Minister Luc Frieden.
Europe Day is a public holiday in the Grand Duchy. According to the ministry, it is also a "special opportunity to reaffirm Luxembourg's commitment to the founding values of the European Union – peace, solidarity and cooperation between peoples".
On this occasion, the Prime Minister and European leaders will walk through Luxembourg City, stopping at emblematic sites in the history of the construction of the European Union.
