On Thursday 24 July 2025, the Grand Ducal Police launched a call for witnesses following an incident of grievous bodily harm in Ettelbruck.
On the evening of Monday 21 July 2025, at around 19:40, the police received a report of an injured man on Avenue J-F Kennedy in Ettelbruck. A police patrol immediately responded to the scene. According to initial information, an altercation occurred between a security guard and another man at the entrance to the E.LECLERC supermarket, during which the man sustained serious head injuries. He received initial treatment on-site before being taken to hospital.
The suspect was later identified and taken into custody. The Diekirch public prosecutor's office was informed and ordered the suspect's arrest. An investigation has been opened against the security guard, and the investigating judge has ordered his pretrial detention.
