The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on the evening of Friday 25 July 2025, residents in the village of Heinerscheid in northern Luxembourg repeatedly reported numerous vehicles, including several lorries and camper vans, heading into a nearby forest area.

Upon arrival, police found several hundred people camping in the area. As there were initially no disturbances or other problems observed, officers decided to wait until the morning before taking further action.

The police said that as this is an unauthorised event taking place within a nature reserve, with initial estimates suggesting around 500 people in attendance, it was decided on Saturday 26 July, after consultation with local authorities, to break up the event.

The police have confirmed that they have contacted the organiser of the event and police patrols are on site monitoring the situation. Additional police units are also in the vicinity to provide assistance if required.

The police continue to monitor the situation and have advised that further updates will follow.
