
The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a fatal accident occurred near Leudelange railway station on the evening of Wednesday 6 August 2025.
At approximately 19:15, a pedestrian was hit by a train near the station. Emergency services confirmed the young man's death at the scene.
The public prosecutor's office was informed and commissioned the forensic police department to conduct an accident investigation. An autopsy has been requested.
Late on Wednesday evening, Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, issued a statement confirming disrupted train services on line 70 between Luxembourg and Dippach-Reckange following the incident. Replacement bus services were put in place.
According to the CFL website, as of Thursday morning, there are currently no distruptions to rail services in the Grand Duchy.
