The Grand Ducal Police have reported that over the weekend from Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 August 2025, multiple driving licences were revoked for drink driving offences.

On the evening of Saturday 16 August 2025, the police received a report that a driver on Rue Geespelt in Livange might be under the influence of alcohol. A police patrol was dispatched and found the driver in Fentingen, where he showed clear signs of drinking. An alcohol test confirmed this and the officers issued the driver with a temporary driving ban.

Later that evening, another police patrol noticed a car speeding and driving dangerously on Um Schlammestee in Weiler-la-Tour. When they stopped the vehicle, the female driver exhibited signs of drinking. The officers carried out an alcohol test, which returned a positive result and the woman’s driving licence was confiscated.

On Sunday 17 August 2025, at around 19:20 the police received a report that a car was swerving on Rue des Trois Cantons in Windhof while heading towards Steinfort. A police patrol located the car and stopped the female driver, who showed obvious signs of drinking. An alcohol test confirmed this and the officers confiscated her driving licence.

Later that evening, a police patrol in Rue de Luxembourg in Pétange observed a driver who may have been under the influence of alcohol. The officers stopped the car shortly afterwards and carried out a check. The man showed signs of drinking and an alcohol test confirmed this. The officers confiscated his licence.
