
The Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of multiple individuals for different shoplifting offences in and around Luxembourg City.
On the afternoon of Thursday 21 August 2025, three people stole several pairs of glasses from a shop on Rue de Beggen in Luxembourg-Beggen. A police patrol quickly caught two of the suspects and officers arrested the third a short time later. According to initial reports, one of the suspects had also recently committed a theft in a supermarket.
The public prosecutor ordered the arrest of all three suspects. They appeared before an investigating judge on the morning of Friday 22 August 2025.
Also, on the afternoon of 21 August 2025, staff in a store on Avenue de la Gare in Luxembourg’s central station district reported a shoplifter. A police patrol located him shortly afterwards.
During the identity check, officers discovered that the suspect was subject to a European arrest warrant.
The public prosecutor was informed and ordered his arrest.
