The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, on Tuesday 26 August 2025, an 80-year-old man sentenced in Norway to eight years’ imprisonment for rape and sexual abuse of his minor child was located and arrested in Luxembourg’s Kirchberg district by members of the Fugitive Search Section of the Judicial Police, in close cooperation with their Norwegian counterparts.
The man is currently being held in detention pending his handover to the Norwegian authorities.
According to the police, the swift exchange of information that led to the arrest took place within the framework of the European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST), of which Norway is a partner.
