On Wednesday 11 February 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported numerous arrests related to drug offences and violent thefts carried out in January 2026, mainly in Luxembourg City.

According to the police, on the evening of Thursday 29 January 2026, a large-scale check focusing on drug and immigration legislation was conducted in the Luxembourg-Gare district and in establishments located in the area. A total of 20 officers took part in the operation.

During a check in one establishment, officers discovered a man in possession of drugs and equipment intended for drug dealing. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.

The police stated that combating drug-related crime remains one of their priorities. Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 24 suspected drug dealers have been arrested and presented before an investigating judge, with the majority of arrests taking place in Luxembourg City.

In addition to drug-related offences, according to the initial information, robberies or attempted robberies involving violence or threats accounted for a significant number of arrests. Since 1 January 2026, nine suspected perpetrators in six separate cases have been identified and brought before an investigating judge. Most of these offences were recorded in the capital, particularly in the Luxembourg-Gare district, while two further incidents occurred in Ville-Haute and another district of the city.

The police also announced that, as part of efforts to strengthen their presence at strategic locations, the opening hours of the Ville-Haute police station on Rue du Fossé will be extended from May 2026. The station will then operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The opening hours of the Gare/Hollerich police station had already been extended at the end of 2024.
