On Tuesday 11 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two bags of drugs were seized by officers following incidents which occurred overnight in Esch-sur-Alzette and Dudelange.
According to the initial information, on the evening of Monday 10 August, a police patrol checked a group of people on the grounds of a cemetery in Esch-sur-Alzette. When officers approached the group, one of the men was seen throwing away a bag. The bag contained narcotics. During a subsequent search, officers found additional drugs and cash on the suspect.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the drugs, cash and a mobile phone were seized. A report was filed.
Later, at approximately 01:40 on Tuesday 11 August, police officers on foot patrol in Dudelange encountered two men in the area of a car park on Avenue Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. Under a parked vehicle, officers found a bag containing narcotics, packaging materials and a set of scales. Further investigations indicated that the bag belonged to one of the two men.
The drugs and other items were seized on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. One of the suspects was taken into custody due to his state of intoxication and remained there until he had sobered up. Investigations are ongoing. A report was filed.
