On Friday 27 February 2026, the Grand Ducal Police issued an update on a recent aggravated burglary* that took place in Leudelange.

The police reported that the incident occurred at a residence in Leudelange on Monday 23 February 2026, at approximately 12:45. The cleaning woman present was robbed by two assailants armed with a handgun and a knife. The suspects stole a significant quantity of leather goods and jewellery, valued at several hundred thousand euros.

Initially, they managed to escape, but the investigation conducted by the organised crime unit of the Judicial Police Service led to the identification of five suspected perpetrators, four of whom were apprehended and remanded in custody by the Luxembourg investigating magistrate's office. During five house searches and two vehicle searches, a large portion of the stolen goods, as well as a firearm (a blank-firing pistol) and narcotics, were recovered.

Previously, the police had issued a warning regarding two burglars on the run in relation to this incident.

*UPDATE: Later on Friday, the police clarified that, based on the current state of the investigation, the incident now appears to have been a case of domestic theft rather than aggravated burglary, as initially reported. According to the police, it has emerged that an individual initially considered to be the victim was likely actively involved in the incident.

In addition to the four suspects apprehended earlier, a fifth person who may also have been involved was questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.

The police stressed that the presumption of innocence applies to all those involved.
